In this version, we explore the new shape simplification feature in Arttista, introducing the “Detailed & Analytical” algorithm, designed to preserve the original form of your drawings while drastically reducing the number of points.
The New Simplification Engine
Whether you're working on vector illustration, animation, or precision editing, this feature gives you more control over your shapes while keeping them clean and efficient.
The new method maintains shape fidelity even with high compression, preventing your drawings from losing their "character" when reducing points.
What’s covered in this update:
- New "Detailed & Analytical" Method – A smarter way to simplify vectors without losing small details.
- Visual Comparison – See the difference between Default, RDP, and the new algorithm in real-time.
- Efficiency – Drastically reduce point count while maintaining the exact look of your curves.
- Total Control – Learn how to configure Arttista to disable automatic simplification after freehand drawing if you prefer raw input.
- Point Spacing Settings – Adjust spacing from 1px, 5px, to 20px and understand how it impacts the final detail level.
Workflow & Shortcuts
You can apply these new features manually or automatically during your creative process:
Manual Simplify: Use the UI button or press Ctrl + U
Undo/Levels: Use Ctrl + Z to step back through different levels of simplification.
Pro Tip: Enable “Smooth Objects Before Simplify” to reduce jitter caused by mouse or pen input before the algorithm cleans up the path.
This update is part of our commitment to making Arttista the most efficient tool for professional animators and illustrators.
